IPE (Lapacho) Pre Oiled

IPE is an environmentally responsible choice which naturally resists rot, decay, insects, and mold without the use of toxic chemicals used in other decking product and is naturally fire resistant. Ipe is dark brownish olive to dark olive in appearance, sometimes greenish due to lapachol. Ipe is well known for its strength and is thought be one of the hardest woods in the world (strength is three times harder than oak) and is highly resistant against fungi and termites and other pests.

Massaranduba is an extremely strong, versatile and durable timber with qualities comparable to Ipe. Due to the timbers straight grain and fine texture, when correctly prepared and maintained it is possible to produce a fine finish which has allowed this wood also to be used for a variety of applications, including furniture components.
